The Shanghai Film Museum is located at the former site of the Shanghai Film Studio on Caoxi North Road, just a ten-minute walk south from the Xujiahui commercial district. The museum, which was once the compound of the Shanghai Film Studio and the birthplace of Chinese cinema, is now the office location of the Shanghai Film Group. Upon arrival, the first thing you'll see is the statue of workers, peasants, and soldiers in front of the museum, which is the symbol of Shanghai Film Studio and can be seen at the beginning of films produced by the studio.

The museum is divided into four floors. Upon entering through the main gate, the service desk is on the left, and there is a café on the right. The suggested order of visit is to start from the fourth floor and then go down floor by floor. You can take the elevator next to the service desk directly to the fourth floor. As you step out of the elevator, you are greeted by the Star Avenue, where you can walk on the shining "red carpet" and show off your star quality. The theme of the fourth floor is "Memory of Light and Shadow," where you can see numerous photos of filmmakers, statues of film masters and their working environments, as well as shooting scenes of classic films like "The Sentinel under the Neon Light."

The third floor is themed "History of Cinema," where you will find图文并茂 (pictures and text) introductions of various films, learn about the growth history of Shanghai cinema, and the development of dubbed films and animations. You can also see various physical exhibits, such as the prop style book of "Dream of the Red Chamber," the production files of "Hibiscus Town," the character design drafts of "Ne Zha Conquers the Sea," and precious materials like the bicycle ridden by the film star Sun Daolin, the shawl worn by Bai Yang, and props from "The Battle in the South and the North."

The second floor, themed "Film Factory," allows you to visit the TV program recording studio, the sound recording studio, or explore the animation studio, post-production studio, and makeup and costume studio. You can also dub a film clip, try editing, learn and experience the film production process, and operate visual imaging devices to understand the principles of film imaging, which is very interesting.

The final floor is called the "Hall of Honor," where the achievements of Shanghai cinema over the century are displayed. You can see the text and images of dozens of classic masterpieces, as well as more than 600 trophies won. In addition, you can see the shooting scene of the film "Crow and Sparrow," with wax figures vividly recreating the scene of the older generation of filmmakers such as Zheng Junli, Zhao Dan, and Sun Daolin shooting on the set.

The first floor has a 4D movie theater that shows films like "The Havoc in Heaven" at fixed times, with a duration of about 20 minutes and a ticket price of 30 yuan. There is also a museum shop on the first floor that sells various film-related products and interesting souvenir handicrafts, which you can check out.
