Shanghai Film Park is known for its old Shanghai architecture, recreating the ambiance of the 1930s. Many film productions have used the park as a shooting location, and visitors might even encounter their favorite film crews during their visit. Taking a ride on the tram or rickshaw through the old buildings feels like a journey back in time.
The park features a fully-scenery "Southern Street," a real-life "Nanjing Road," "Shanghai Shikumen Lane Houses," "Suzhou River," and "Waibaidu Bridge." The old Shanghai, known as the "Ten Miles of Foreign Concessions," comes alive as you travel on the tram, passing through the "Old Bund." After disembarking, you can stroll down "Nanjing Road," with its iconic Shanghai shops like Shen Dacheng Dim Sum, Wang Xingji Fan Shop, Hengdeli Clock and Watch Store, and Zhang Xiaoquan Scissors. If the mood strikes, you can take a rickshaw and let an old Shanghai "Xiangzi" driver take you around "Tianxiangli" or the old streets adjacent to Nanjing Road, immersing yourself in the era of old Shanghai.
The park also includes a Catholic church, a medieval winery, and European-style buildings representing the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Norway, and other countries, catering to the filming needs of various movies, TV series, and wedding photoshoots.
Within the park, there is the Shanghai Film Studio's Costume and Prop Exhibition Hall and Wax Museum. The 1,500 square meter exhibition hall preserves nearly 200,000 pieces of film costumes and props from different historical periods and styles.
Shanghai Film Park has hosted hundreds of film and TV production crews, as well as advertising shoots. Well-known works such as "Temptress Moon," "Romance in the Rain," "The Countess," "Kung Fu," and "Lust, Caution" were filmed here. Walking through the streets and alleys, you might find yourself in a significant scene from a movie, making it a delightful experience for film enthusiasts to follow the movie trails.
