**Notice of Temporary Closure for Renovation**
The Shanghai Science and Technology Museum will be temporarily closed for internal renovation starting from April 1, 2023. It is expected to reopen in 2025.
The Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, located on Century Avenue in Pudong, is one of the largest science education venues in Shanghai. Here, visitors can gain a comprehensive understanding of natural sciences through various modern equipment and interactive displays, and the Science Film City with its impressive audio-visual effects is a must-visit for an educational and entertaining experience with children in Shanghai.
The museum boasts a rich collection of exhibits, including hundreds of exquisite specimens of wildlife and geological samples, performances by robots with diverse functions, models of electronic information devices and space equipment, and displays of various scientific inventions. The strong interactivity is a major draw for young visitors. Through interactive devices, visitors can learn about the principles and laws of various disciplines such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry, participate in simple design and manufacturing activities, witness natural phenomena like earthquakes and volcanic eruptions through multimedia simulations, and engage in various sports simulations to understand the mysteries of the human body and health.
The museum also features the Science Film City, which includes four high-tech special cinemas: IMAX 3D, Dome, 4D, and Space Digital Cinemas. Parents can bring their children to experience dynamic and realistic sci-fi scenes and feel the charm of high technology.
